By Rotation

There will be nine rotations available in BSUH. Most of these rotate between the Royal Sussex County Hospital, Brighton & the Princess Royal Hospital, Haywards Heath. One ENT post rotates with Worthing Hospital, which is a few miles west of Brighton. The nine rotations comprise:

  • Rotation A - Geriatric Medicine, Paediatrics, General Adult Psychiatry, A & E, Obstetrics & Gynaecology, Child/Adolescent Psychiatry
  • Rotation B - Geriatric Medicine, Obstetrics & Gynaecology, Paediatrics, A & E, General Adult Psychiatry, Old Age Psychiatry
  • Rotation C - Geriatric Medicine, A & E, Substance Misuse, Obstetrics & Gynaecology, ENT, General Adult Psychiatry
  • Rotation D - Geriatrics/Acute GIM, ENT, Geriatrics, Old Age Psychiatry, Liasion/Adult Psychiatry
  • Rotation E - Geriatrics/Acute GIM, A & E, Obstetrics & Gynaecology, Learning Difficulties, Paediatrics, General Adult Psychiatry
  • Rotation F - Geriatric Medicine, Obstetrics & Gynaecology, Paediatrics, Psychiatry, ENT, Medicine
  • Rotation G - GUM, A & E, Psychiatry, Geriatrics/Acute GIM, Obstetrics & Gynaecology, Trauma & Orthopaedics
  • Rotation H - Geriatric Medicine, Obstetrics & Gynaecology, General Adult Psychiatry, ENT, Ophthalmology, Trauma & Orthopaedics
  • Rotation I - Geriatrics/Acute GIM, Psychiatry, Trauma & Orthopaedics, A & E, Geriatric Medicine, Obstetrics & Gynaecology.

Whilst every effort will be made not to change these rotations, it may sometimes be unabvoidable due to the reconfiguration of services.

For August 2007 only - there will also be ten ST2 posts available. Each will comprise 3 x 4 month hospital jobs and 12 months General Practice.

 

A & E Royal Sussex Hospital

The department is a major unit that opened in 1969. It underwent major refurbishment in the late 1990s. It sees 70,000 new patients per annum.
