Dr Catherine Bryant graduated from the Royal Free Hospital, London and worked in psychiatry and hospice work before joining General Practice 1998. The practice covers a huge variety of patients’ needs, including those of the local YMCA, schizophrenia sufferers and those with alcohol problems. Along with a VTS registrar the practice also trains medical students from the new BSUH Medical School and also from London medical schools. The surgery provides all the usual range of Chronic disease management including COPD, asthma, Diabetes and Ischaemic Heart Disease, Minor surgery, Joint Injections and are about to start offering IUCD and Implanon fitting.
The training is assisted by other partners with a wide experience of general practice. The schedule of training, like other practices in the area, is dictated by the registrar’s needs. The practice resides in a large spacious building with an enviable supply of hot-house plants and easy parking! Dr Bryant enjoys family life and reading in a book group when at leisure and completed a PGcert in Medical Education in 2008. She welcomes any enquiries a potential registrar may have catherine.bryant@nhs.net.
