Dr Paul Evans graduated from Guys' Hospital Medical School in 1988 and completed several jobs in Casualty and Dermatology before moving to Brighton to start his GP training in 1991. On completing the Brighton VTS he accepted a partnership at Wish Park Surgery in 1994. Paul has been teaching General Practice since 2006. Between 2007 and 2009 he became the Community Educational Supervisor for the FY2 training scheme in Brighton, Hove and Newhaven. This entailed supervising and supporting the FY2 doctors in the area, arranging weekly tutorials and working with the Deanery to ensure that the scheme ran smoothly.
Paul has been a Brighton GP Trainer since August 2009. Following three years as the joint Chairman of the local PBC group, he became the City Anticoagulation Lead and DVT Clinical Lead. He has been personally responsible for projects in the City and the development of local enhanced services working closely with his colleague GPs, Secondary Care Consultants and the PCT. He is also a member of the British Medical acupuncture Society providing acupuncture for his NHS patients when required.
Paul advises that "Brighton and Hove is a fantastic place to train to be a GP, both during work and leisure". In his spare time he enjoys most sporting activities including squash and windsurfing, making the most of the excellent water sports facilities on the door step here in Hove.
