GP Study Leave

The new GP Study Leave form for ST1 and ST2 trainees is available to download here (opens in new window).

In ST1 and ST2 years upto 30 days of study leave may be taken per year at the discretion of the GP Programme Directors. Please note this is not an entitlement.

Currently the annual personal study budget allowance per year is £260 pro rata.

The Deanery and Programme Directors also arrange GP relevant study sessions at no extra cost to you throughout the year which you are able to attend.

A different process is in place for Study leave in ST3. Your trainer & Programme Directors can advise you further on this.

Annual Leave

Junior staff are expected to discuss plans for leave with members of their Department well in advance or any proposed leave. Set leave is in force in some specialities, so please do not book holidays without checking first. Please also do not book leave on the first day of joining the scheme as you will be required to attend the compulsory hospital induction course.
